Any ideas/suggestions to help boost team morale back up?

  • 0

Hi there!
Team morale is quite low right now on my team. We’ve had multiple changes in team composition (lots of people have left the company). The most recent departure of our QA has developers feeling low.

Any ideas/suggestions to help boost morale back up?
Ps: in case you’re wondering people are leaving because of different reasons. Life happens.

      I’d suggest two things :

      – the presenting issue is seldom the underlying issue
      – “morale” and motivation varies a lot from individual to individual

Rather than make assumptions and come up with solutions for your team, maybe just ask them how they are feeling, and explore that together as a team? And include yourself in that process. be vulnerable about how *you* are feeling too.

There’s a bunch of pathways into this; some structured things and some less so. A lot depends on your psychological safety as a team, what you currently do, and a host of other factors related to your specific workplace and context.

But “ask the team and discuss it” would be my counsel.
